Privacy First

All processing happens in your browser. We don't store URLs, meta data, or generated images. The server-side API only fetches HTML from the URL you provide — nothing is logged or cached.

Instant Results

No sign-up, no rate limits, no waiting. Enter a URL and get results in under 2 seconds. The validator scores your meta tags instantly with color-coded errors, warnings, and passes.

7 Platform Previews

See exactly how your link looks on Twitter/X (summary and large image cards), Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack (with unfurl preview), Discord (embed preview), WhatsApp, and iMessage.

How Does It Work?

1

Enter a URL

Paste any publicly accessible URL into the input field. The tool accepts HTTP and HTTPS URLs.

2

Server-Side Fetch

Our API route fetches the page HTML from the server side to avoid CORS issues. It extracts all <meta> tags, <title>, <link> tags, and other relevant head elements.

3

Parse & Validate

The extracted meta data is parsed into structured fields (og:title, og:image, twitter:card, etc.) and validated against best practices. Each tag is checked for presence, length, format, and value.

4

Render Previews

Platform-specific preview cards render using the extracted data, mimicking exactly how Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp, and iMessage display link unfurls.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Open Graph image?
An Open Graph (OG) image is the preview image that appears when you share a link on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. It's specified using the og:image meta tag in your page's HTML head. The recommended size is 1200x630 pixels for best compatibility across all platforms.
Why do my links look different on each platform?
Each platform has its own rules for displaying link previews. Twitter uses Twitter Card meta tags (twitter:card, twitter:image), Facebook and LinkedIn use Open Graph tags (og:title, og:image), and messaging apps like Slack and Discord have their own unfurling logic. This tool shows you the exact preview for each platform so you can optimize for all of them.
What meta tags should every page have?
At minimum, every page should have: og:title, og:description, og:image, og:type, og:url, twitter:card, a meta description, a canonical URL, and a viewport meta tag. Our validator checks all of these and scores your page from 0-100.
Is this tool free to use?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up required. There are no rate limits, no premium tiers, and no ads. All processing happens in your browser — we don't store any data.
Why can't the tool fetch my localhost or internal URLs?
The tool fetches URLs from our server to avoid browser CORS restrictions. This means the URL must be publicly accessible on the internet. Local development URLs (localhost, 127.0.0.1) and internal network addresses are not reachable from our server.
How is the Meta Score calculated?
The score starts at 100 and deducts points for issues: -15 for each error (missing critical tags like og:image), -5 for each warning (suboptimal tag values), and -1 for info suggestions. A score of 80+ means your meta tags are well-optimized for social sharing.
